_"HELP WANTED: NEW PRESIDENT OF THE U.S.A."
What do you think are the most pressing issues facing our nation, and why
?

If we take God out of the equation (nationally and politically speaking) we're toast. There is a reason that this country has been so great (historically). We were founded on basic Christian principles of God-given freedom and liberty. We've been headed in the opposite direction for a long time, and I think we've seen the adverse affects of that.
There are some BIG issues facing our nation. Issues like national security, illegal immigration, desensitization to immoral and sinful behavior ... but in my book there's nothing bigger than the movement away from God that we've been witnessing for the last 100 years.
I will pick a candidate who most closely represents my personal stances on all the issues, but the overriding factor for me is examining which one of the candidates will try to pull us away from God the LEAST. In my book it has nothing to do with political party (although one does line up more closely with my beliefs than does the other, naturally), or race or age or gender. Instead it has everything to do with the person's conviction to lead this country back to the basic values on which it was established.

For me, the current hot topics are (in any order):
• Obesity becoming a national heritage.
• The next oil crisis. (Unlike the one in the late 1970's, there won't be oil tankers sitting off the California coast hoarding oil to keep prices inflated.)
• Syria.
• Pakistan.
• Rehabutards (Lindsay/Paris/Britney et al.).
• The "North American Union" (go to youtube for that, and prepare to shiver).
• A new "Knight Rider" TV show. WHY?!?!!?

One issue that worries me and has for some time is that these candidates seldom have common goals, yet they believe that's what makes them a better candidate to vote for. It used to be that I cared for one political party over the other but now it's down to picking the lesser of two evils. There are so many issues in this country of ours, but if our leaders don't start working together towards common goals, these issues may be addressed but never resolved. I will be praying for our government and I encourage others to do the same.
